Staind @ the New England Dodge Music Center

Friday 7/18 I went to see Staind and 3 Doors Down at the New England Dodge Music Center in Hartford, CT. It was an amazing show. I will review 3 Doors Down next time. Hinder and Jet Black Stare opened the show before Staind came out. I don't care for either band so I got there right before Staind went on. Being a big Staind fan and also a huge fan of Aaron Lewis I knew what to expect. I had seen Staind with Nickelback and Daughtry last summer and this was no different, hits from beginning to end.

Aaron Lewis truly is one of the most talented frontmen in any rock band. If you've never seen him perform solo, you are missing the best acoustic experience you could see. He knows a hundred songs and plays all kinds of covers including Staind and his forthcoming solo material. In the middle of the concert, he came out alone and played an acoustic version of Bob Seger's Turn the Page and it brought the house down. Mike M, the guitar player, moshes hard to every song whether it's a headbanger or a ballad. Quite funny to see. The first two songs had the bass up too high and Aaron couldn't really hear well but fortunately it got fixed. If you get the chance, check out Staind live and their 6th album out in August "The Illusion Of Progress".
